In 1980, Cliff “Buzz” Bender began farming and tiling for Kennell Farm Drainage of Roanoke, IL. Throughout his 16 years there, Buzz developed a reputation as a skilled equipment operator and an expert in farm drainage and land improvement.
Buzz purchased the excavating and farm drainage business from his former employer, Robert “Bob” Kennell, and began operating as Bender Land Improvement in 1996. Bender Land Improvement continued the legacy of its predecessor by offering common-sense drainage and excavating solutions at a fair price, with courteous and conscientious service.

Over the past few decades, Bender Land Improvement has grown in size, scope of work, and expertise, thanks to the hard work of Buzz and his dedicated employees.
Buzz’s son, Dave, joined the business full-time in 2003.
Today, Buzz, Dave, and the team continue working hard to solve drainage problems and improve your land.
